As a side note, I tried putting Sophia's hair in curlers for the first time last night. She slept in sponge curlers and we took them out this morning. Once they were all out, we took her to the mirror. She instantly started sobbing. Once she calmed down she was able to explain that she wanted long hair, not short hair. She didn't understand that the curly hair wasn't permanent. When she understood that she would get her long hair back once we washed it, then she was OK. Admittedly, it's a bit Shirley Temple-esque, but it was fun to try. I think next time I'll try bigger curlers so it doesn't so closely resemble an afro. The joys of having a girl!

Here Comes Santa Claus...
I took the kids to meet Santa Claus today, he was visiting the Rockin' E. William and Sophia were so thrilled to see him. Sophia ran over to him and practically jumped into his lap. William grabbed onto my leg and adored him from a distance (typical of both of them). Santa asked Sophia if she eats her vegetables (which she does, Will not so much) and then asked Santa for a princess Aurora gown. William reluctantly went next. Santa asked him if he helps mom by putting his dirty clothes in the hamper (which he does, Sophia not so much- how did Santa know??). Then, Will asked for a race car. Next up was Eva. She was not sure about this guy with the white beard. She didn't cry, but she didn't want to sit with him for long. William, being the good big brother, told Santa that Eva wants Clipo (kinda like blocks) for Christmas. Each of them were given a candy cane- their first ever. They were so excited to eat it when they got home. What a fun visit with Santa!

I love the curls...I'm getting so excited for Nora Jane's hair to grow now!!!! Kinda funny that Sophia cried...poor girl, life is hard! :) Sadly, probably not the last time she'll cry about something done to her hair...I did just last week.
i love it!!!!! i'm sad that its already the end of the year and they will be leaving our nursery class, i guess you'll just have to bring them when you come V.T.
Man, we miss those litte guys! Tell them to stop growing up so fast :-)
Imagining her in the mirror crying because her hair wasn't long anymore cracked me up! Thanks for that! I have cried seeing my hair before too.
And yes, LARGER rollers would be a good idea. =-)
What cute pictures! We had a good laugh at story behind the curls! Madison loves watching "Heidi" with Shirley Temple(it's at the Centerville Library)maybe she would be more tolerant if she saw how cute shirley is! Happy Holidays!
