Out of the Mouths of Babes

Our home computer is broken AGAIN! So, Easter photos will have to wait until it's fixed. Or worse, they may never appear if they can't fix the computer. I've already deleted them from the camera so they may be gone forever. Maybe I'll just have to recreate the day and take photos all over again. I am currently stealing Dave's work computer so I can at least get my blog fix for a while.

Anyway, William and Sophia are at such a fun age where they are just saying the craziest things. The other day, Sophia went up to a much younger mom and said, "Are you 33 like my mom?" To which she replied, "No, sweetie, I'm only 25". Ouch.

Next story: Dave's parents had an Easter egg hunt for the grandkids and the eggs contained money. Mostly change, but some had dollar bills. William and Sophia were lucky enough to each get one. So, I took them to the Dollar Tree and told them they could each pick one toy. It was so cute to watch each of them analyze each toy to see if it was worth their dollar. After several minutes, William found a winner: a small Woody figure from Toy Story. He was in love. The search continued for Sophia and eventually we ended up back by the Toy Story figures. William happened upon a Buzz Lightyear.

Looking ever to intently on the two of them he turned around and said, "Can I get both?" I told him no, I was operating on principle here, had to stand my ground. He looked at the two of them again and said to Sophia, "You haven't chosen your toy yet, do you want a Buzz Lightyear?" She shot him down faster than I did. Again, staring longingly at the pair he turned to me and said, "Mom, you haven't picked your toy yet, do you want to pick Buzz Lightyear?" This time I just couldn't resist his sweet face and I fell for his ploy. I now "loan" him my Buzz Lightyear to play with on a daily basis.

Ain't I a sucker!

I'm sorry about your computer. That is the worst!

Hey I wanna play with Buzz Lightyear! Will you loan him to me? Better yet, let's go shopping sis, and you can by things that I will just borrow. Sound like a plan?!

It was so good to visit with you the other week. I hope that when we're home this summer we will be able to get the kids together for some big fun. Unfortunately, my girls side with Sophia - no Buzz or Woody for them.
