Happy Birthday Dave!

It was Dave's birthday on the 22nd, the day of the big game. Of course, it was so generous of the Utes to get the victory and give Dave a great birthday present. No, I won't gloat (even though I want to) because I know things can always be different next year.

It seems as we get older we don't just celebrate our birthday in one day, it tends to spread out over days and weeks. Dave's birthday was no exception. Last Sunday, my parents had us over for dinner and dessert to celebrate.

On Friday, I took Dave out to lunch. Thanks Shannon for watching the kids so we could sneak away. We went to a little dive called Moochies. They are known for their meatball sandwiches and Philly Cheesesteaks. It was really good, however, my clothes, hair and purse smelled like the place all day. On Saturday, his actual birthday, he went with the youth to the temple and then out to breakfast. The Bennett's were kind enough to invite us over for the game, even though they are Y fans. We tried not to rub the victory in their face too much.
On Sunday, Dave's parents had us over for dinner and dessert. Then, this weekend, I will be taking Dave out for his favorite: sushi. I think it's great we've been able to do a lot of celebrating. Dave's a great guy (I know I'm partial) and I feel lucky to have him as a friend, husband and father to our kids. Happy Birthday Dave!

I know...I felt bad about BFD falling on his big day. NO ONE should have to get up that early on their BIRTHDAY!

I'm glad you guys have had an opportunity to do some fun things together! You all sacrifice a lot for the ward--

and P.S. GO UTES!

Dave, happy birthday. I can't believe you are now closer to 40 than 30. You are really getting up there. Amy and I heard about Moochies on the food network. Having lived in Philly for a short time, we fell in love with the cheesesteak. So, naturally we listened closely when they did a segment on cheesesteaks in Utah. We can't wait to try them. Maybe we can meet you there when we are out during the holiday.
