This is Eva Wednesday morning-
What a difference!!!
It all started on Wednesday, the 18th. In the afternoon, Eva started throwing up. It happened off and on until Friday night. Then, Eva and Sophia were throwing up every hour. Gotta love it. Sophia got better really quickly, but Eva just couldn't seem to shake it. The vomiting slowed down, but was continuing by Sunday night. On Monday morning, Eva just couldn't stay awake. She only wanted to be carried and refused to eat or drink. I took her into her doctor's office where they ran some tests and confirmed that she was dehydrated. I took her up to PCMC to get some IV fluids. After additional testing, the ER determined she needed to be admitted until the problem could be corrected. The top photo is of her getting her IV fluids. I spent the night with her at the hospital and they informed me that Eva would not be able to go home until she was willing to eat and drink on her own. I was not very optimistic. They woke her up every two hours during the night to check on her and take vital signs and I was to offer her some water. She continuously refused. In the morning, she ate a banana and immediately started to turn around. Long story short, we were discharged Tuesday afternoon and you can see by the photo that she is back to her old self.
While we were in the hospital I was reminded of how blessed I am to live in a time where such medical care is available. Had this been a couple of centuries ago, I don't know if she could have been helped. I am also so grateful for wonderful family and friends who helped us. From watching the twins, to bringing dinner, to the phone calls and prayers, I am truly filled with gratitude. Eva is doing great. She's supposed to slowly reintroduce foods and liquids. Like the great parent that I am, here she is with a Peep at lunchtime. What can I say, I'm a sucker for her smile.

so glad she is okay, and from a nurses stand point, i think peeps are the best medicine. :)
So glad she is feeling better! We are also glad the family is doing a lot better--good bye cold season and hello spring:)
Oh my goodness! I knew she was sick, but I had no idea it had gotten that bad. I'm so glad that she is doing better. Kids bounce back fast once the start to mend.
I am so glad to hear that she is feeling better. There is nothing scarier than a sick baby. We sure miss you guys!
Glad she is doing okay! That has got to be so scary! I agree with Lisa, peeps are the best medicine!
oh... its always so sad to see your kids sick. Glad she is doing better... peeps must be the best medicine.
I love the picture of the silly face! Proof that she is back to her cute little self! Sorry you had such a scare but I'm glad she is okay.
That is so scary; don't you love Primary Children's??
BTW, I just saw your Dan in Real Life post. We saw it and I loved it, but Kelly was totally traumatized because he felt like he was watching his life in 10 years. All those girls... he made me promise not to go anywhere.
