I was in my car yesterday, ALONE, so I got the chance to turn the radio station to "my music" instead of kid stuff. I was confused by the song on the radio and checked to make sure it was still on my #1 preset- 101.9- The End. Yep, but it was playing some rap song. The next song was equally lame, followed up by a song from Paula Abdul. I racked my brain, it isn't April Fool's day, right? Then a voice-over came on saying, "The new 101.9- you'll never know what kind of music you'll get- and we like it that way". Seriously??? My favorite station is now a jock-less random collection of mostly lousy music. It put me in a bad mood for the rest of the day. Anyone else a fan of The End? Can anyone in the area tell me of a suitable alternative? Something with Maroon 5, Train, Matt Kearney, etc? I refuse to let my kids have control of the radio every time we are in the car and I don't want to put my ipod in the car, I listen to it too much in the house. I know it's lame to get so worked up over music but really, for me, life without great music really isn't much fun.
P.S. -don't bother posting a comment about the virtues of county music. That's never going to happen.

Heather, I am with you. I was a big fan of 101.9, and now, all of a sudden, they are gone. The company that owned them recently declared, or was forced into, bankruptcy. So I have been curious if this would eventually happen.
99.5, 98.7 and 97.9 are good alternatives with similar music. The latter two are sometimes a little slower, though.
I am now the proud owner of "a TRUCK" so you probably don't want to hear my radio station suggestion...
ha ha!
P.S. If you're a fan of Train have you heard any of his solo songs? Like Midnight? They are amazing!
I heard 96.3 X-96 is a pretty good alternative one. My neighbor was just saying the same thing to me! She said to try that one!
Jeff and I were very sad to hear the news because we always listen to The End morning show. Now we don't know what to listen to. This morning we tried NPR. Let me know if you find anything decent.
You are so funny! 98.7 is a good one, and 99.5. I do have a lot of the country stations too, but I won't post those. :)
Heather, I went looking and 'found' your blog. I can't believe how big your kids are! I was actually trying to get ahold of you. Can you please e-mail me if you get the chance? kimijeanchristensen@hotmail.com
Thanks Heather!
