Happy Father's Day! I am truly grateful for my dad, my father-in-law, my husband and all the other great men and fathers out there. I appreciate the influence each of them have on me. As part of the Father's Day celebration, I made Dave a Red Velvet cake. There's an episode of Super Why with Red Velvet cake. The kids keeping asking for it, so I decided to make it. I found a recipe and made it from scratch. It turned out to be the most hideous thing I've even seen. Sadly, it didn't taste good either.
Is it supposed to have the huge crater in the center? No. The crumbs everywhere in the frosting? No. The kids didn't care, they ate it. Dave and I tried, but it truly was not good.
Thanks heavens we've got yummy French toast for the morning. Maybe I can redeem myself.
On a separate note, we went swimming for the first time this season and had a great time.
